DEV-NHT-03Q / DEV-CHT-03Q (High Surface Area Profiles)
High Surface Area Profiles
These are the advanced Quadrilobe (four-leaf) versions of the standard NHT and CHT catalysts. They share the same chemical formulation but utilize a more complex geometry.
Key Features
- Increased Surface-to-Volume Ratio: The Quadrilobe shape provides up to 30% more external surface area than standard cylindrical extrudates.
- Reduced Diffusion Resistance: Reactants can penetrate the catalyst more quickly, significantly increasing the effective reaction rate (Activity).
- Lower Bed Pressure Drop: The unique shape creates a more open bed structure with higher voidage, allowing for higher throughput or longer cycles before pressure drop limits are reached.
- Improved Metal Dispersion: The increased surface area allows for a more uniform distribution of the active metal phases across the catalyst carrier.
Application Areas
- Units limited by pressure drop or those requiring maximum activity within a restricted reactor volume.
